1999 FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS

The State Football Playoffs began October 28, with qualifying rounds for all classes except Class A. On Wednesday, November 3, there were 16 teams remaining in all classes. Playoff rounds continued with quarterfinals on November 8, semifinals on November 13. Finals for all classes were held at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln for the fourth year on November 18 (D2, D1), 19 (C2, A) and 20 (C1, B). Paid attendance for state finals: 21,514.

Class A was made up of the 25 largest schools playing football; the next 31 largest were Class B; the next 67 schools were Class C1 and the remainder of the schools playing 11-man football, 68, were Class C2. The D1 and D2 schools were all schools playing 8-man football. There were 60 in D1 and 59 in D2. Two schools playing eight-man were above the playoff eligibility enrollment limits.
